Prince Eric and his crew are forced to stand on the ice and they survive. As such, she gained a better perception of herself and the world and found out that a life of honesty and self-acceptance was the only key to her happiness. It is odd that the merteens she meets do not notice she does not wear a typical seashell bikini top like other mermaids. After Melody thanks her, Morgana plots by fake-crying. Despite no longer wishing to be a mermaid, Melody still retains her passion for the sea and shows much enthusiasm in getting to know her grandfather and her aunts, as her heart belongs to the ocean just as much as it does to the land. As she blames herself for the whole ordeal, Morgana's spell wears off, and she instantly loses her mermaid powers, rendering her human once more and is placed in mortal danger as the water engulfs her. Although she ultimately desired vengeance against Ariel and Eric for their role in Ursula's death, she also simultaneously disliked and envied her due to her neglect from her mother, as the latter favored Ursula far more. Morgana looks up at the sky and says to her mother that she has finally won. Morgana replies "Oh you wanna join your daughter? Melody then comes across Morgana's minions who brings her to their Ice Cave. As such, he gives her a choice; she can come with him to Atlantica as a mermaid to live with him and her aunts or return home to Ariel and Eric as an ordinary girl. Morgana confesses that she herself tricked Melody into giving the trident to her and that King Triton is really the king and is Melody's grandfather. Prince Eric, his crew, and Scuttle arrive in battle the now-powerful sea witch. Ariel disagrees with her, as she does not think of her as odd or a failure but as the brave and amiable girl she and Eric could not be more proud of even if she had not just saved the entire ocean and assures her that her species is not what defines her, but her heart. Because of this, Melody was shunned by her peers throughout her childhood, which had highly negative effects on her; she became socially inept, insecure, and even self-loathing to a small extent. As Morgana spun a tale about it having her name on it because it had her destiny in it, my father and his men could neutralize her magic and capture her. Despite the ban, she is subconsciously drawn to the sea due to her mermaid half constantly resurfacing no matter how deep Eric and Ariel try to bury it. Melody and Flounder attempt to free Ariel but Morgana throws them both in a cave and seals the entrance with a thick layer of ice while sadistically reminding Melody that she will cease to be a mermaid at sundown which will occur momentarily. Morgana says "Of course it exists. Morgana, eventually tries to take the trident away by tying up one of Melody's feet, she lifts Melody upside down and tries to grab the trident back, but Melody pierces the trident through one of her tentacles, distracting and hurting her, so Melody gets free and throws the trident back to Triton. Also in a deleted song, she sung about her sister "blew it!"
Morgana sees Melody, Tip, and Dash near Atlantica. Eventually, she came to believe that she had no place in the world. She is about to do so when suddenly Ariel arrives, having followed Cloak and Dagger to the hideout, and warns Melody not to trust Morgana.


Melody accepts and her boat is towed into Morgana's lair in the Arctic Ocean by her manta ray minions, While searching for the trident, Melody tries to use a map Morgana gave her, and due to the ticklish sea kelp, the whale she rides sneezes, forcing her off of it, and the map gets broken. After Undertow taunts Triton, Sebastian chases Undertow, angrily but Morgana transforms Undertow into a gigantic shark and Sebastian manages to flee. Morgana is the younger sister of the wicked sea witch named Ursula, whose place she takes as the main antagonist of Disney's 2000 direct-to-video animated sequel film The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea, the sequel to Disney's 28th full-length animated feature film The Little Mermaid. She grabs Melody and put her with her behind an ice wall. Suddenly Melody wakes up in confusion while being carried in Eric's arms, much to his relief.
