This sign on a product means, that the stockpile is full (or missing) and the work is blocked until some storage space is freed up (or built). A stone stockpile is required to store them.

Without those facilities the mines wont't work. Graveyard Keeper is the most inaccurate medieval cemetery management sim of all time. And yes, I will say, it was frustrating. And simple don't let them transport slabs but only processed stones and marble. You just don't need stone any more, not in any real quantities, anyway. Here again, placing a zombie in a porter station will transfer stone and marble to your base. : you have 4 stone and 3 marble in a stone stockpile, you set it to marble, the stone stays there until you remove/consume it (or, a nice touch, the zombie porter moves the stone to a stockpile that permits its presence). My stone stockpile is full, stone/marble share a stockpile, if I make another stockpile then the stone will go in that along with marble, and my porter won't drop the stone he's holding (because he has nowhere to drop it) so he won't pick-up new marble. I have zombies carrying resources up and down from the quarry so i won't have to deal with it, but since marble and stone shares a stockpile i always end up with just stone or just marble. Two zombies can acquire stone and two other zombies can acquire marble.
