If the customer pays for the food what's the use of the Red Card & why would I ever be responsible for paying for the customer's order?

If you are already feeling unsafe I do not recommend this 'job' for you. Just cut your losses and move on to the next oneRealize early on that you are the captain and need to have your own best interest in mind.

Whats your honest opinion on DoorDashIt puts a lot of wear and tear on your car. Pepper spray or a stun gun would even be nice to have in case you have to protect yourself.

I'm applying for a job with doordash right now and its asking me for my social security number. female and I’ve never felt unsafe dashing, but then again I usually just dash near my house (which is in a really safe area.)

Scariest thing for me is delivering to apartments at night with someone walking behind me for a while, headed to their apartment.

I’ve delivered to some hoarder like houses that were pretty creepy but the customers were super nice.

All we get from doordash is the food and card that is only of use at a spot we pick up from. I feel like we have a bad reputation because they will hire just anyone who could pass a background test and they will employee people who either never had a job in their life or kept a job and this reflects on their ability do the job properly with a great deal of empathy. To be someone who makes $700 a week, you will need a car that has at least 25 mpg. its a completion job. Just answer this.. is it at least partially finished?New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castLooks like you're using new Reddit on an old browser. ?

I’m in the Silicon Valley area so I’m hoping to get many orders when I start next month- that’s when I’m planning to get a newer trucklol, yeah that place in the Chicago area is Portillo's.It’s all up in the air as far as making money, it really depends on what area you work. Placed my order at 11:50am got my order over 2 hours later.

Exact DoorDash contribution + tip (combined) listed before order acceptance. Remember you are not an employee, you are an independent contractor (you work for yourself). I move out of the way and let them get in front of me.Oh man... Lol. I used to work the Bay Area but the “rich” area by Palo Alto I would make more compared to my normal section.

I guarantee I will never use Doordash …

As a Dasher, I’ve only encountered a few strange incidents that made me feel unsafe while dashing around SJ. its a quality machine and in the 10 years ive had it, i have only had one transmission go, simply because the prior owner would brutalize the gears. I personally have never had a problem. I've thinking about becoming a delivery driver with DoorDash and was wondering how safe was it? because if you are uninspired you will not make money.that said, its the easiest job ive ever had and i average 20-30 per hour usually, working mornings. do u also get tips? It's easy money as long as you don't get stressed at the inherent flaws in the DD system.a) DD sending you to closed restaurants -- takes time and gas from you without proper compensationb) DD finessing bonus pay -- I have never once received my bonus pay from a campaign without dealing with some BS from support. I just ignore it and move on. Horrible service. Ive seen posts on this sub some say its worth it and earn like 700$ and others say its minimum wage and cost gas and tear down your car. Once in a while I get the subtle flirty customer.

You need to really like helping people, you need to listen and follow directions, and be happy and willing to help. Cons.

Tipping allowed after delivery completion. It could be as simple as a whistle to a pocket knife.

I’ve worked for DD for almost 2 years part-time. Today was my second day and I like it enough so far since it's just my side hustle.Exactly.

some places just dont have enough business, other places like that plutos in chicago or whatever the place is called gets like hella orders per hour which makes lots of money. I think that as long as you stick to suburbs and avoid dashing super late at night then you should be fine!Stick to suburbs for side hustle you’ll know the area along with the restaurants making you feel comfortableI’ve done 1300 deliveries on Doordash and never felt unsafe. I’m also 5’5” and small framed, not weak and ready to kick some ass, on guard at all times. By using our Services or clicking I agree, you agree to our use of cookies. I always hear that you should never give your social security number on a job application like this and just use a fake one but they will find out that I gave them the wrong number when they do the background check. i was driving an hour from home across a toll bridge and the tooth of a transmission gear popped loose and tore up the transmission, with silver glitter in the trans fluid.

The money I make goes into our vacation fund.

I was thinking that safety might be less of an issue with DD since customers need to enter their personal info into the app and are therefore a little more accountable?? I got a ton of deliveries for the one not so safe place and i reject all of them. When you get right down to it, delivering late at night can be dangerous for anybody, but I do agree that for females it can be a bit more dangerous with all of the pervs. Customers do not see our personal info.

do you get many orders? I'm a 18 y/o girl and have an orientation for DD next week to make some extra money to save up.

Are there any stories on DoorDash drivers getting robbed, beat up, etc? DoorDash’s per-order minimum contribution increases from $1 to $2. Would you guys say it's pretty safe? On the other hand, if you do want to do doordash then just take precautions.
